Thyme Wellness Spa & Guesthouse

Thyme Wellness Spa & Guesthouse

In the heart of the Northern Suburbs is this cherry of tranquillity. We loved every moment we spent at Thyme Wellness Spa and Guesthouse.

The drive along the N1 to Plattekloof to find the Guesthouse is simple with beautiful views of Table Mountain. When we arrived we easily checked in and were shown to our room by Faith, one of the hostesses. She gave us a tour of our room and the grounds which we had access to. She then sent us a WhatsApp with the menus, Wi-Fi password and general info we needed to make our stay comfortable. We were able to WhatsApp them for whatever we needed. This takes room service to another level and the personalised care we received was top shelf. James and Faith made sure they were available for every request, even if it was simple bringing water to the room.

Lets circle back to the room. We stayed in the Saffron room which is a large bedroom romantically decorated in shades of blue, grey and silver with a massive French inspired bathroom. The bedroom has a bed, seating area, tv, bar fridge and coffee station. We walked into gowns and blooms on the bed with a towel shaped in a heart and rose petals leading the to bathroom. My heart! The en-suite bathroom houses a massive amount of cupboard space, bath and shower. The rose petals lead to a ice bucket with bubbles and glasses on the bath ready for us to enjoy. Something I adored about the bathroom was the rosemary hanging in the cupboards keeping everything smelling great. They use my favourite scent, lemongrass, in the personalised liquid soap and lotion. I was in heaven with the sensory explosion.

The bedroom leads off onto a patio with seating to enjoy a private dinner. We opted for the option of a private dinner. Thyme has a great dinner, lunch and breakfast menu. We opted for the Balsamic Fillet Medallion and Chef’s pasta of the day for dinner on the patio with a bottle of Diemersdal Savignon Blanc. It was divine.

The bathroom has direct access to the outdoor spa facilities, pool and garden. The outdoor spa includes a steam room, relaxation areas, jacuzzi and outdoor pool. We enjoyed sundowners in the jacuzzi to end of a gorgeous day.

Shortly after arrival our therapists took us to their couple spa room for a Swedish full body massage and their signature Thyme Signature foot treatment. The therapists took time to understand our needs and did such an exquisite job. After our massage we were given bubbly while they did our foot treatment which comprised of a soak, scrub, massage and a clay mask.

After our treatments we spent some time in the pool with some more bubbles and a cheese and nut charcuterie board before dinner. James and Faith made sure we were properly taken care of and brought us towels and everything we needed. I loved how easy it was to contact them on their whatsapp line.

After a great nights rest we were served breakfast in bed and spent the rest of the morning relaxing before checking out.

We loved this short stay and will definitely be booking for longer next time. There guesthouse stays include breakfast and they have self catering units if you would prefer those.

Thank you Thyme Wellness, James and Faith for being the best hosts!
