When I was in high school we had a workshop with a company which came to teach us how to effectivily study. Those techniques have sat with me for years and they are now something I can carry over and teach to my children.
One of the things that was the most important was having a specific work area with a desk or table to work at.
Here are reasons why this is important.
- Kids need a Comfortable working space.
People underestimate how important it is to have a proper surface to work on. Having a desk at the correct height and the correct surface that’s hard enough to press down on when writing is needed so that you dont strain your body and become restless which can make kids lose focus.
2. Having a consistant working space
When you have a desk you are likely going to work at the same area each day. Working in the same space everyday ultimately builds a bubble for you child. There bodies will adjust and eventually once they are in this space it will be easy for them to get into a mode that they can focus and simply work in.
We are using an incredible Flip and Fold portable desk by Space Save. The desk is spacious and has more than enough work space.
What I love the most about this desk is that it easily fits under bed, car or behind the couch which saves us so much space. It also comes fully assembled with beautiful finishes. The quality is incredible and we are so happy to have this desk.
If you are looking for a desk but dont have a lot of space, make sure you check this one out. It costs between R1399 and R1449, such a bargain for a quality desk. They have 3 colour options in Rustic Wood, White and Ice White.
